This course is open to people who have no previous interpreting experience, but wish to gain experience in the field. Ideal for beginners looking to practise and build their language interpreting skills in a professional, working environment.

Our training programme has been designed to introduce bilingual students to the profession including role boundaries, professional conduct, terminology and practical issues, to help those already working as interpreters to assess and further develop their interpreting and other professional skills and to offer guidance to students who are considering to work as professional interpreters.

This course will raise awareness of the numerous ethical issues that professional interpreters regularly encounter as well as of practical considerations relevant to offering a professional service. This includes knowledge, skills and understanding, continuous professional development and conduct, terminology research and assignment preparation and working on a freelance basis.

The course will cover most types of interpretations such as: Simultaneous, consecutive and sight interpretation in details.
