Course overview

Cybersecurity is now an executive governance priority. Senior leaders must justify security spending in commercial terms and satisfy complex statutory regimes. Through structured analysis, delegates learn how to connect security programmes directly to core business objectives without getting lost in technical minutiae.

Five days of instruction examine the machinery of security leadership. Delegates evaluate governance structures such as NIST, ISO and COBIT, alongside compliance obligations under GDPR and HIPAA. They inspect assessment tools, translate system telemetry into board-level KPIs, and practise presenting risk summaries to non-technical directors.

Delegates evaluate emerging technologies, review policy maintenance workflows, and establish continuous improvement programmes to keep defensive postures resilient.

Course objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  1. Direct organisational cybersecurity strategy aligned with commercial business objectives
  2. Implement structured governance models and satisfy regulatory standards including GDPR and HIPAA
  3. Conduct thorough risk evaluations and establish proportionate mitigation plans
  4. Define and report executive cybersecurity metrics and key performance indicators
