Course overview

Supply Chain Management (SCM) follows a product from raw material sourcing through production and storage to distribution and customer delivery. Procurement, logistics, transportation, inventory control and support functions work together to maintain goods and service flows, control costs and improve efficiency. Sustainability applies across that workflow. The course combines theory with practical tools for handling complex tasks, making decisions and meeting deadlines.

Delegates examine supply chain structure and the stages of operations, including Material Requirements Planning (MRP), purchasing and production control, capacity, logistics and warehousing. Sustainability leadership and performance measurement accompany an overview of ISO 20400. Risk work distinguishes actual and perceived risks, considers mitigation and uses a stakeholder matrix to guide engagement and collaboration.

Supplier cost management looks at Total Cost of Ownership and Life Cycle Costing, pricing structures, cost drivers and potential savings, including internal and supplier-related costs. The final day addresses sustainability strategy, environmental impact and standards, and the three levels of supply chain sustainability. Exercises and continuing feedback support the planning and implementation of sustainable processes.
