Course overview
AI algorithms and connected devices have applications in the design, operation and maintenance of electrical systems. The course examines how sensor data supports predictive analysis and how engineers can use that information in fault detection and energy optimisation. Delegates consider the components of smart systems and their connections with existing control work.
Data collection supports monitoring. Across five days, delegates examine IoT sensors and remote diagnostics, then apply AI methods to maintenance planning and failure prevention. Practical sessions address electrical automation and monitoring alerts, followed by smart grid applications that connect load forecasts with energy distribution and renewable sources.
Case studies and simulations provide engineering situations for practice. Delegates apply algorithms and interpret IoT data in exercises before considering adoption difficulties and cybersecurity in electrical and power systems. The final day includes a roadmap for implementing AI and IoT in electrical networks.
