Because aging plant equipment, unplanned downtime and fragmented maintenance budgets threaten operational viability across heavy industries, engineering departments require systematic governance frameworks to balance asset performance, capital costs and operational risk. Standardised asset management principles provide that necessary alignment.
Arranged across seven modules, this five-day course concentrates on the practical execution of the ISO 55000 standard within workplace environments. Delegates assess the structure of an overarching asset strategy, establish a cross-functional steering team and draft a Strategic Asset Management Plan. They study methods for categorising physical assets according to criticality and operational impact.
Subsequent sessions focus on operational execution, service contracting and performance monitoring. Delegates evaluate active and passive inspection regimes, structured audit frameworks, incident investigation methods and root cause failure analysis to prevent recurring equipment breakdowns.
