Course overview
A feasibility study supplies evidence for deciding which projects to start or continue and which option to pursue. Assessment considers the project's value to the organisation and its fit with the organisation's vision and mission, alongside the people's capabilities and resources available to deliver it.
Delegates consider how to prepare a study, analyse its information and critically evaluate studies produced by colleagues or suppliers. Technical and commercial questions accompany financial methods, cost estimates and cash-flow forecasts. Option selection, quantitative risk analysis and response planning then provide inputs to the feasibility report and project plan.
The proposal needs clear communication. Sessions address business plan preparation and the pitch of a business idea, including preparation for The Dragon's Den, case studies and role-play. Multiple intelligences and the learning cycle feature in the work on communication, with lessons learnt and a personal action plan included.
