Preparing business data for reporting can involve several files and different sources. The five-day programme develops advanced Excel skills for that work, including functions that organise data and tools that connect separate tables before delegates analyse the results. All practice takes place in Excel.
This course opens with recent Excel functions: UNIQUE, SORT, FILTER, and XLOOKUP. Delegates learn to pull data from external sources using Power Query, including folders, websites, and PDFs. The programme addresses Pivot Tables for generating management reports, including calculated fields, slicers, and custom layouts.
From day four, work turns to Power Pivots and data modelling. Delegates build relationships between tables and write DAX formulas to create calculated fields and measures. The final day covers Excel automation: data types for currencies, geography, and stock information, plus Office Scripts and macros for handling repetitive formatting and reporting tasks.
