Course overview

AI has applications in financial analysis and the automation of routine accounting work. The course examines those uses within the financial, regulatory and cultural context of accounting departments, including how customised applications can support business practices and decision accuracy. Delegates work with Python, Power BI and ChatGPT on financial problems.

Workshops include deploying custom AI agents. Sessions examine machine learning models for forecasting cash flow and assessing risk, then address fraud detection and the use of natural language processing in reporting and audit work. Budgeting exercises cover variance analysis and the use of economic data to forecast revenue and expenses.

Integration raises ethical and regulatory questions. Guided discussions consider compliance standards and how an adoption strategy can fit the organisation's financial objectives. Practical exercises and cases connect these issues with improvements to workflows and the skills finance teams need to use AI in their roles.
