Human resources activities carry legal and financial implications for an organisation. Staff need accurate data and reliable processes, and an audit provides a way to examine whether current arrangements meet those requirements. Delegates identify areas requiring scrutiny, decide what questions to ask and consider minimum requirements for effective HR processes. The workshop first examines the function's main cycles and organisation charts, then the purpose, history, priorities and planning of an HR audit.
Findings require evidence. Administration work includes statutory compliance, employee administration, leave, payroll and computer-based data management systems. Core-function audits cover recruitment and selection, workforce planning, training and development, performance management, and compensation and benefits.
