Course overview

Workforce financial planning must respond to business priorities in volatile conditions with limited resources. This executive programme examines strategic HR budgeting, cost scenarios and plans justified through data, performance and investment analysis. Delegates study manpower forecasting with artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics, and the incorporation of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and environmental, social and governance (ESG) goals into workforce finances.

Control requires visibility. Budget monitoring, financial benchmarks and variance analysis are linked with decisions about unforeseen expenses and real-time reallocations. KPI-aligned dashboards and enterprise risk management provide context for transparency and accountability. Workforce segmentation, growth and change are examined alongside retention ROI, recruitment versus development choices and benefits rationalisation.

Reporting makes HR investment choices visible to senior decision-makers. Delegates interpret and present financial data to the C-suite and board, using cost-benefit analysis, Return on Investment (ROI), Value of Investment (VOI) and strategic payback models. Cost metrics connect with business scorecards, and reports communicate the financial contribution of talent and capability investment. HR's contribution to board-level strategy and governance is considered alongside the financial governance responsibilities of workforce planning leaders.

Integration work considers innovation, digital tools and preparation for future needs. HRIS, integrated business planning tools and Power BI support budgeting and cost control, including mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and expansion. Cases and simulations examine disruption, COVID-19, AI adoption and market volatility. Executive briefings, workshops, diagnostics and peer exchanges address capability development and challenges faced by strategic HR and cross-functional leaders.
