Course overview

Management reports and dashboards are standard requirements in modern business. However, building them manually consumes hours of staff time. This course moves delegates beyond basic Excel use. It focuses on turning raw data into clear, visual management information without relying on external software.

The programme starts with pivot tables, covering how to slice, aggregate, and integrate data from SQL and Access databases. Delegates learn to build dependent drop-down lists. They also apply advanced conditional formatting rules. The middle sections focus entirely on visual output. Delegates learn to create dynamic labels, sparklines, and thermometer charts that update automatically when new data arrives.

The final days move into report automation. Delegates learn to record, edit, and test VBA macros to handle routine tasks like budget variance reporting and invoice analysis. Delivery is heavily practical. Delegates spend 85% of their time working directly in Excel on case studies and projects.
