Course overview

Strategic HR contributes expertise to enterprise planning and develops an HR strategy aligned with organisational goals, values and tactics. The course combines 2 subject areas from an eight-part HR curriculum: strategic human resources and employee engagement. Strategy development, implementation and evaluation are examined in relation to stakeholder value, including five types of organisational strategy and a 6-Step planning approach.

Relationships support engagement. Connections between employees, managers and organisational mission, vision, values and goals are examined from individual and organisational perspectives. Performance and behaviour expectations at every level are considered alongside culture, work-life balance, ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Delegates distinguish engagement from job satisfaction, define an engagement strategy and examine motivation at important employee milestones.

Implementation needs a plan. Change processes and other execution considerations connect HR objectives with practical actions. Employee Experience (EX) work examines its development, stakeholders, overwork and research before and after COVID-19, followed by strategy elements, metrics and initiatives in large organisations. No prerequisites are required and entry is possible at any time. Discussions, individual and group activities, cases, toolkit development and post-tests at module ends support learning.
