Changes in markets, competition, technology and business models affect the decisions managers make about growth. Evaluating those changes requires an understanding of their drivers and direction, as well as the risks attached to strategic development. The programme examines global business change and its implications for moving an organisation from its present position towards future opportunities.
Evaluation comes first. Delegates study business trends and assess performance to date, using financial analysis and non-financial measures that include the Balanced Scorecard. Market analysis, the voice of the customer and product life-cycle effects then inform forecasts of business potential. Strategic and operational plans, programmes and projects are considered together, including how to align and coordinate them.
Business development sessions address innovative offerings, activities that distinguish a business model, disruptive change and the choice of risks. Crisis management and recovery sit alongside future organisational development priorities. The final day examines how value moves within and beyond a business, how this affects strategy and structure, and how to develop people for an agile organisation in a changing environment.
