Course overview

Senior executives need a firm grasp of risk management to steer their organisations safely. This five-day course explores the relationship between corporate governance frameworks and effective financial oversight, moving from basic accounting principles through to complex investment appraisal techniques. It acts as a practical guide for board members.

Delegates learn to identify and control financial risks while managing working capital. The sessions provide hands-on experience evaluating capital expenditure using Excel, alongside applying models like the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC). The practical work grounds the theory.

Attendees finish the week by looking at how to balance shareholder expectations against debt structures. They also review the specific duties of audit committees and internal auditors, ensuring they leave with a clear picture of how good governance actively supports long-term profitability.
