Course overview
Construction management requires managerial skills and technical expertise across feasibility, preliminary and advanced design, procurement and construction. Site work needs the same standards as other core business activities because project failure carries high costs. The programme examines practical strategies for assessing work methods, resources and systems against requirements, beginning with owners, contractors and subcontractors, their responsibilities and jobsite safety.
Organisation supports supervision. Staffing and facilities sessions address employers and consultants, temporary buildings, utilities, services, security and hazard control, together with kick-off and owner-contractor meetings. Delegates use scheduling and monitoring methods to control work quality, progress and cost, then examine reporting, payments, cash flow and final accounts. The closing work connects productive relationships and team and individual performance with change management, claims and dispute resolution through arbitration, mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR).
