Course overview

Once a contract is awarded, its obligations need to be put into practice and managed. The programme examines the activities and procedures involved in that work, beginning with the contract's elements and the competencies required of administrators. Delegates consider difficulties that arise during implementation and the provisions that influence their response.

Administration involves several working tools. Sessions examine contract dissection, issues and risk logs and schedule plans, with lessons learned and international contracting included in the discussion. Contractor assessment work introduces questionnaires and surveys alongside performance indicators, targets and service level agreements, including the management of subcontractors.

Changes can lead to claims. The final modules examine variation processes and breaches, financial damages and alternative methods of resolving disputes, including mediation and arbitration. Delegates prepare negotiation objectives and consider guidance for reaching a settlement, with attention to resolving deadlock in post-award discussions.
