Course overview

Relying on external contractors gives a business flexibility. However, poor integration with internal staff causes severe friction. This programme shows hiring managers how to attract capable consultants, settle them in quickly, and maximise their output within a set five-day contract period.

The process begins with tender documents. Delegates define Statements of Work (TOR). They also check market rates for technical and management consultants to ensure competitive pricing. The group explores the entire tendering cycle, evaluating incoming bids and agreeing on terms before finally awarding the work.

Sessions examine payment structures. They practice building a working Service Level Agreement (SLA). Procurement teams monitor performance and control project delivery, all while keeping liability risks to an absolute minimum.

Course objectives

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  1. Score bids and proposals to choose suitable contractors and consultants
  2. Write and interpret the main clauses in contract documents
  3. Select payment structures for different situations
  4. Agree on terms using principled negotiation methods
  5. Manage the output of consultants and contractors
