Course overview
Documentation affects workflows. Delegates examine causes of inefficient processes and the resources used to maintain information, then consider methods for designing a cost-effective corporate strategy that supports paperless work and protects document integrity. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and Records and Information Management (RIM) analyses inform the discussion of change, while technical documentation cases are examined from several perspectives.
A documentation project needs procedures throughout its life. Delegates consider initiation and completion alongside electronic system choices, process maps, work instructions and departmental training. Indexing, numbering and data libraries precede the material on contractual obligations, design revisions and legacy archives. Access, control levels and version tracking connect with retention policies, central storage and consistent naming. The closing module examines data quality, information management, compliance and automated sharing and capture processes. Presentations, videos and group work explain the document control concepts.
