International trademark administration requires consistent data, clear responsibilities and reliable follow-up. An inaccurate applicant name, an unsupported goods description or an overlooked notification can create work across several territories. This course concentrates on the practical administration of Madrid Protocol matters, from assembling filing instructions to maintaining a portfolio after registration. It addresses MM2 application data and current filing channels, with attention to the requirements of the relevant Office of origin rather than assuming one submission method applies everywhere.
Day 1 organises applicant, basic mark and priority information into a filing instruction set. Day 2 works through the MM2 structure, goods and services, designations and pre-submission checks. Day 3 examines irregularities, designated office notifications and the handover of refusal responses to local representatives. Day 4 covers subsequent designations, renewals and changes to holder information or ownership. Day 5 develops a portfolio control process using reconciliation and exception reporting exercises. Throughout the five days, delegates practise checking source records, assigning action owners and separating WIPO procedural tasks from obligations arising under national or regional law.
By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:
