Presenting to a small team, speaking at a conference and pitching to clients require a message the audience can follow. The programme addresses anxiety, structure and confident delivery for personal and professional situations, with attention to engaging, inspiring and influencing listeners. Day 1 introduces communication's verbal, nonverbal and vocal elements through a 1 to 2 minute icebreaker presentation per delegate.
Structure guides the audience. Presentation planning on Day 2 develops an introduction, body and conclusion, main messages and supporting points, and the use of an opening and storytelling to maintain interest.
Audience work on Day 3 includes eye contact, gestures and movement, with PowerPoint, slides and props as visual aids. Questions, polls and participation accompany methods for managing distractions and maintaining focus; delegates deliver a 5-minute presentation. Day 4 develops pitch, tone, volume and pace, pauses and emphasis, posture and facial expressions, and responses to audience cues.
Questions require preparation too. The final sessions anticipate questions and objections and consider difficult audience members and professional conduct. Practice, peer feedback and recorded presentation review identify strengths and improvement areas. Frameworks and resources support presentation structure, with workbook templates and checklists, daily breaks and Q&A and action plans for continued development.
