Audits and inspections provide information about hazards, compliance and opportunities to improve workplace safety. The programme follows that information from planning and evidence gathering to reports and corrective action. The opening work on Day 1 examines principles and requirements, including OSHA and ISO 45001, and discusses the benefits of audits and inspections.
An audit needs a scope. Preparation on Day 2 sets objectives, scope and criteria and addresses audit-team selection and training, with a plan for a simulated workplace. Field techniques on Day 3 cover recognising hazards and non-compliance, gathering evidence and documenting findings through a mock audit or inspection.
Reporting on Day 4 evaluates the findings, prepares clear, concise reports and communicates results to stakeholders, including a report-writing exercise from mock findings. The final work develops and implements corrective-action plans and reviews their effectiveness, connecting these activities with an ongoing safety-improvement culture. Lectures, cases, discussion and practical activities accompany quizzes and improvement plans; a workbook includes templates, checklists and resources, and breaks with Q&A occur daily.
