Managing a portfolio of projects is different from managing any single project. Portfolio management sets which work gets done, in what order, and with what resources, so the combined effort moves the organisation toward its strategic goals rather than consuming capacity on the wrong priorities. When circumstances shift sharply, as they did after COVID-19, portfolios that were built for one set of assumptions need to be rebuilt for another.
Portfolio tools and processes support strategic realignment after disruption. Delegates work through how to identify, select and prioritise portfolio components, how to plan and govern a portfolio, and how to allocate resources against organisational capacity. COVID-19 provides context for examining changes in strategy, standard roles and portfolio planning.
The programme covers portfolio governance and its relationship to broader organisational governance, stakeholder management, risk management and value management.
