Course overview

Uncontrolled documents and fragmented filing systems expose enterprises to compliance penalties, project delays and costly operational errors. When project teams circulate outdated drawing revisions or lose audit trails, operational accountability breaks down across the supply chain. This programme sets out the operational protocols required to manage document lifecycles and preserve corporate memory across complex projects.

Delegates review baseline document control routines, including unique numbering conventions, document types, standard templates and formal transmittal processes. Instruction covers quality specifications, distribution matrices and document control software systems. Attendees examine how clear procedural boundaries between authors, reviewers and controllers prevent unauthorised revisions from reaching active sites.

System migration comes last. Subsequent modules trace the records management lifecycle from initial capture and metadata indexing through to archiving and lawful disposal. Delegates analyse statutory regulations, conduct risk assessments and draft business cases for DCRM software migration. Final sessions focus on software selection, legacy data transfer and establishing sustainable business-as-usual routines.

By the end of the course, delegates will be able to:

  1. Align document control and records management practices with corporate objectives and regulatory environments
