Operating across national boundaries introduces challenges and opportunities that affect business strategy. Organisations considering expansion need to understand international markets and the competitors already operating there. The programme examines the global business environment, market entry strategies and cross-cultural management, alongside the tools used to assess performance in businesses with international operations.
Entry routes differ. Delegates compare their advantages and disadvantages, consider the factors behind a suitable choice for different industries and companies, and study strategic alliances and partner selection. Performance management work covers measurement systems, KPIs and frameworks. Implementation sessions examine the alignment of organisational vision, mission and values with global strategy, as well as practical challenges and success factors.
Emerging markets receive particular attention during the final day. Technology, global talent management and environmental and social responsibility are considered alongside future trends that may influence strategy. Hands-on exercises allow teams to develop their own strategies, with discussions and interactive activities providing opportunities to share knowledge and working practices.
