Course overview

Leading an organisation through competitive and changing conditions requires a view of its direction and how people will deliver it. Delegates examine leadership mindsets, tools and frameworks for aligning vision, strategy and performance. Modern leadership approaches, strategic thinking and organisational transformation are studied alongside the need for clarity and adaptability.

Direction needs action. Strategy sessions cover environmental analysis using PESTLE and SWOT, goal setting, action plans and the Balanced Scorecard with KPIs. The work considers barriers to execution and the alignment of organisational structure, culture and resources with strategic goals. Change leadership includes uncertainty, complexity, Kotter’s 8-Step Model, stakeholder communication and resistance.

Organisational performance also depends on talent and the development of leadership at different levels. Delegates examine team leadership, coaching, mentoring and empowerment, together with innovation, improvement, diversity, inclusion and collaboration. Strategic decision-making and risk management lead into governance, ethics and corporate responsibility. Cases and workplace applications support the evaluation of strategic performance and leadership in a digital environment, ending with a personal leadership development plan.

  • The full fee is paid in advance, before the course starts.
  • Cancel in writing 30 or more days before the start date (45 for in-house) for a refund. Later than that, the full fee is payable.
  • No refund for non-attendance or partial attendance.
  • Places are for the named delegate only; another person cannot attend instead.
  • Moving to another date or city is only possible if ARUK agrees in writing.
  • Travel, accommodation and visas are your responsibility. A refused visa does not change the cancellation terms.
