Course overview

Leadership in turbulent business conditions involves taking decisions with incomplete certainty and adjusting strategies as circumstances change. The programme draws on Mark Zuckerberg's emphasis on risk-taking in a changing world and Tom Peters' approach to rapid testing and adaptation. Delegates examine strategy, risks, negotiation and leadership through practical sessions addressing strategic and everyday challenges. Planning work connects vision and mission with strategy, analytical tools and implementation; risk sessions consider strategic and operational exposure, mitigation choices and contingency plans.

Relationships affect execution. Negotiation work examines organisational power, preparation, boundaries and approaches that seek gains for both sides. Leadership sessions address earned charisma, effective skills, uncertain conditions and persuasion in staff motivation. Delegates also consider building a motivated team, interpersonal relationships and self-coaching to develop confidence. Change management brings communication and empathy together with the delivery of objectives, gaining support and identifying change agents. Team leadership and a personal action plan provide the final work on continued self-development.
